PRESS: Mobile operator MTS buys cyber sports club Gambit Esports
MOSCOW, Jan 16 (PRIME) -- Major Russian mobile operator MTS has acquired cyber sports club Gambit Esports, business daily Vedomosti reported on Tuesday, citing the two parties of the deal and two employees of local cyber sports firms.
MTS’ spokesperson Dmitry Solodovnikov said the operator purchased Cyprus-domiciled firm Praliss Enterprises, which owns the club.
According to the Cypriot register, Praliss Enterprises’ sole owner as of Monday was Luxembourg-based Allegretto Holdings S.A.R.L., which is controlled by MTS. The previous owner of Praliss Enterprises was Panama-based Gambit EC S.A.
A source close to the team of Gambit Esports said that the club could have earned up to U.S. $1.5 million in 2017.
